Who We Are
Morning and Jim Nichols, vocalist and guitarist, have charmed audiences with the quality and warmth of their music for over 20 years. In addition to performing as a duo, they co-lead the Nichols Dance Band, performing musical classics--Big Band, Swing, Jazz, Motown, R&B, Oldies and Classic Rock for dances, parties and weddings. Although the band's size is variable, most clients prefer five to eight pieces.

Performances and Recordings
Their local performances include the Black & White Ball, Street fairs at Fillmore and Union Sts. in San Francisco, also at Burlingame, San Rafael and the Pacifica Fog Fest, KQED Food & Wine Festival, and three years at the Mark Hopkins Hotel. The Nichols have opened for Johnny Mathis, Maria Muldaur, Chet Atkins, the Beach Boys and the Smothers Brothers. They have 6 CDs to their credit; Live at Boulevard, Somebody Loves Me, Save Your Love For Me, Unconditional Love, Save Your Love For Me and My Flame. They are featured in the wedding guide book and website, By Recommendation Only (www.byreconly.com.) and perform regularly at music festivals and clubs in England, France, Italy, Finland and Germany.

About Jim
Jim possesses impressive credentials with appearances on television, radio, concert halls and clubs including Carnegie Hall and the Tonight Show. He has played and/or recorded with Hubert Laws, Kenny Rankin, Eddie Harris, Tom Waits, and the Coasters. San Francisco Chronicle describes him as a "thinking musician whose tasteful solos and accompaniment add even more pleasure." Jim's solo CD, Jazz and Country was chosen by Guitar Player as a "pick of the year" for 1996 and in 2001, he was featured in Fingerstyle Guitar Magazine and Acoustic Guitar Magazine .

An attractive song stylist with a pure and uncomplicated approach, Morning has performed extensively in Northern California at a variety of concerts, clubs, and festivals--including the Monterey Jazz Festival and the Mabel Mercer West Coast Cabaret Convention. For seven years, she was the featured vocalist with the acclaimed 19 piece Full Faith & Credit Big Band. She has played with or opened for Mark Murphy, Jake Hanna The Lettermen and Les Brown. Just Jazz Guitar says of her: "She can swing with the best of them."
